Function
Supporting Function: It is used to support the conveyor belt and the materials on it, enabling the conveyor belt and materials to run stably and preventing the conveyor belt from sagging or deforming due to the weight of the materials.
- Friction Reduction: The rollers rotate along with the running of the conveyor belt, which can reduce the resistance during the operation of the conveyor belt and decrease the friction between the conveyor belt and the rollers. Consequently, the wear of the conveyor belt is reduced, prolonging its service life.
- Deviation Adjustment: Some rollers, such as self-aligning rollers, can be used to adjust the deviation of the conveyor belt during operation, ensuring that the conveyor belt always runs on the correct track and preventing the conveyor belt from being damaged or the materials from spilling due to deviation.
- Shock Buffering: Buffer rollers can mitigate the impact of falling materials on the conveyor belt at the loading point of the conveyor belt, protecting the conveyor belt and other components from being damaged by the impact force.
Classification
- Classification by Material
- Rubber Roller: It has good elasticity and wear resistance. It can buffer the impact of materials on the conveyor belt and has good anti-slip performance, which can increase the friction between the conveyor belt and the roller. It is suitable for some occasions where high protection requirements for the conveyor belt are needed.
- Ceramic Roller: It is characterized by wear resistance, acid, alkali and salt resistance, and oxidation resistance. It can effectively prevent the belt from deviating, reduce the local loss of the belt, prolong the service life of the belt, and has a much longer service life than ordinary rollers in the open air and harsh environments. It also has the advantages of being electrostatic-free and less likely to produce sparks when worn or collided, making it suitable for environments prone to explosions such as coal mines.
- Nylon Roller: It has a low friction coefficient, is wear-resistant, and is not easy to damage the belt. It has excellent self-lubricating properties and can operate in harsh environments without the need for oiling. It is not easy to get stuck, has good anti-magnetic properties, strong corrosion and aging resistance, and can withstand repeated impacts and vibrations. It is lightweight, easy to install, has a low maintenance rate, low noise, stable operation and energy-saving.
- Steel Roller: It is mostly made of seamless steel tubes, with high strength and large load-bearing capacity. It is suitable for occasions with large conveying capacity and heavy materials, but it is prone to rust and corrosion in some harsh environments.
- Classification by Purpose
- Troughing Roller: There are many types such as ordinary type, forward tilting type, quick-change bearing type, and hanging type. Usually, it adopts a three-roller roller set, which can make the conveyor belt form a trough-shaped cross-section, increase the load-bearing capacity of the materials, and prevent the materials from spilling. It is widely used in coal, cement, electric power and other industries.
- Parallel Roller: It includes ordinary type, comb type, forward tilting type, etc. It is mainly used to support the return section of the conveyor belt, maintain the flatness and stability of the conveyor belt, and enable the conveyor belt to return smoothly in the return stroke.
- Self-aligning Roller: There are general-purpose type, friction reversible type, strong type, etc. It is used to adjust the deviation of the conveyor belt. When the conveyor belt deviates, the self-aligning roller will automatically adjust the position of the conveyor belt to make it return to the correct running track.
- Buffer Roller: Such as spring plate type, buffer ring type, etc. It is installed below the receiving section of the conveyor to reduce the impact of materials on the conveyor belt when the materials fall, protect the conveyor belt and other components, and prolong the service life of the conveyor belt. It is often used in corrosive environments such as coal washing plants, coking plants and chemical plants.
